LEED GOLD INITIATIVE

LEED is a voluntary, internationally recognized certification system that measures how well a site performs across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.

LEED promotes an integrated, whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in six key categories:

1.    Sustainable Sites

2.    Water Efficiency

3.    Energy & Atmosphere

4.    Materials & Resources

5.    Indoor Environmental Quality

6.    Innovation and Design

The Hotel Skyler will meet, and in some cases exceed, the minimum thresholds established for each of these categories, ultimately achieving ‘gold’ status.  Once recognized as a LEED-Gold property, Hotel Skyler will have reached the third tier of a four tiered certification system—earning the prestigious distinction of LEED-Gold certified.
